Karen S. Nevins, Director of Choirs Fundraising2010-2011 FundraisingRock-A-ThonStudents traveling to Chicago in April will conduct their second annual LHS Choir Rock-a-thon on February 19th, during the Craft/Retail show being held in the East end of Lincoln High School! Sponsors will assist students in making this trip to Chicago! SAVORY FOODS COOKIE DOUGH SALEAfter a hugely successful December, 2010 sale, by special request of happy customers, the choirs will be conducting a follow-up sale starting Tuesday, January 18th to help students build their travel accounts in preparation for their February 15th trip payment. More details regarding the sale's end and delivery dates will be posted once the contract is signed and further details are set. Our goal will be for each person to sell at least 10 buckets for greater profits to the student's travel account! The size of our sale will determine the amount of profit we receive for each bucket sold. Sales were so outstanding in December that students topped all previous profit levels! Congrats sellers! Lets see if we can sell over 500 buckets once again! St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Holiday BallHOLIDAY BALL COAT CHECKS on December 4th was a huge success! This is always an excellent opportunity for students! GENERAL FUNDRAISING GUIDELINESFundraising occurs throughout the school year and involves students and our boosters. Mrs. Nevins has been responsible for documenting and updating student travel accounts; however, the Boosters support each fundraising project, take part in distribution of goods, and maintain funds accrued from fundraising. While some fundraising profits are specified for student travel accounts and used for choir travel, choir clothing items and such, if a student drops out of the choral program, his/her account is automatically deposited into the scholarship and awards fund. An account can be transferred only to the student's sibling or for parent trip expenses. This year we already have three fundraisers organized for fall to include a brochure sale with a new company (delivery in October); our 16th annual Holiday Greenery sale, distributed the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving; with a repeat of the Savory Cookie Dough products (delivery in December). Students will want to be talking up these products to family and friends in order to get the most out of their fundraising projects. Due dates and distribution dates will be posted on the choir calendar posted on this website. If you are a parent with availability during or immediately following the school day and would be interested in assisting Mrs. Nevins with fundraising distribution in October, November, and December, please contact Mrs. Nevins, as distribution of these products takes her away from teaching. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated! |
