Voices on Broadway NYC Tour!

Split Dimensions have been invited to tour to NYC to perform in the grand finale of "Ragtime" on the Broadway stage! Students will be fundraising, so be sure to support their individual fundraising efforts to make this trip happen! Students will prepare two songs from "Ragtime" in addition to three other musical theater pieces. They'll arrive on April 8th for an adjudicated performance of their songs. Their NYC weekend will include another Broadway production of their choice in addition to the "Ragtime" performance event. They'll be staying in the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Time Square and will attend an Awards luncheon in the Marriott for recognition of their work. The morning following "Ragtime," they also be featured on the CBS Today Show! Sounds like a memorable weekend! Trip deposits are due now, the trip has been presented to the School Board. If board approved, the first payment will be due December 15th. Additional fundraising will be forthcoming.

LHS Booster/Alumni Choir

Return to the choir room for some Holiday fun and friendship! Bring a dish or a dessert to pass that will compliment a chili potluck! Arrive to eat at 6:30 pm and mix with the others in your choir! Then gather forces to create another Holiday spectacular performance of the Twelve Days of Christmas and a couple more favorites! Even if you don't think you sing well, you'll be welcomed with open arms! Just remember, the more voices we have, the better the sound! ;o) Plan to dress in your favorite or your wildest Holiday outfit for the performance! We hope parents and alumni will step up to the plate!

CONGRATS Split Dimensions!

Bravo! With only five weeks of preparation, Split Dimensions joined forces with Milan High School and Lutheran Westland Choirs to perform an outstanding Oratorio Concert by invitation of the Concordia College Choirs in the Concordia College Chapel on Sunday, October 11th! Parents and friends filled the chapel for this wonderful concert. Following the concert everyone was invited to a Hot Cider and Cookie reception hosted by the Concordia College Choirs. Split Dimensions were well prepared and their performance did Lincoln proud! Great job, Singers!

DAILY CLASS REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED DAILY CHOIR MATERIALS

Students are required to provide a 1-1/2" BLACK (BLACK!) 3-ring binder, a pencil, and note paper for taking classroom discussion/theory notes.

GUM RESTRICTION

Singing requires responsive and often deep breathing. As a result, choking is a concern. As a result, students CANNOT be permitted to chew gum or eat snacks during warm-ups, during the rehearsal, or during performances. For the safety and welfare of every singer, gum chewing is strictly prohibited during choir class and/or at performances. Food and colored beverages are also prohibited on the carpeted chair risers and/or in the choir room except for special occasions by permission of the director. For assurance that students are safe from aspiration (injury or death) parents will be notified if student resistance or a problem persists regarding this rule. Please explain the importance of this concern to your child.
